Just a reminder – this year’s Medicare Annual Enrollment period will end on December 31, 2008. If you haven’t yet reviewed your current Medicare plan, we urge you to do so before the new year begins. During the Annual Enrollment period, Medicare allows anyone to join, switch, or leave a Medicare plan.
Although you may be happy with your current Medicare plan, it may still be worth a review. Every year, Medicare plans change – both on what they cover and what they cost. After a quick review, you may find that your plan cost has changed drastically, or no longer covers the services you need.
During this enrollment period, all Medicare policy holders should:
- Review the 2009 cost and coverage of your current drug and health plan. Be sure to review and compare the premium costs, co-pays, and deductibles.
- Compare the cost and coverage of your current plan to other plans available in your area. You may find a more affordable Medicare plan that better meets your unique needs.
- Be sure that the plan you choose covers the exact medicines and services you need, and the pharmacy and doctors you prefer.
It is important to note that all prescription drug plan changes must be made during this annual enrollment period. If you don’t currently have prescription drug coverage, yet would like to have this coverage, you must make that plan change before the enrollment period ends.
So, don’t forget! Take advantage of this opportunity to review and change your Medicare plan – you only have one week left! All changes made during the Medicare Annual Enrollment period go into effect on January 1, 2009.
